No! In this case, it’s being so scared of let’s say, ending up in a dead-end job, that you raise all hell to find and keep one you like.

I think there are 3 parts:

  1. “Running away” from things you really dislike in areas that are important to you (aka work, love, friends, where you live).
  2. Having high expectations of yourself in those important areas once you’ve made sure you’re not doing something you hate and pushing yourself to accomplish them (aka turn a good job into a great one)
  3. Cultivating low expectations around things that don’t matter too much (clothes, the restaurant you want to go to being full or closed, a traffic jam).

Thank you so much for your comment, it actually made me refine my own thinking on it more, maybe I’ll sort of rewrite this with these 3 paths in mind!
