It sounds like that person never meditated right. Sometimes, non-judgment as a way of accepting suffering is the right answer, but not always of course! I think of it more as a delay. You don’t judge at first. You give yourself more time. And then you re-assess whether you still need more time later. Often, life resolves many things all on its own. But sometimes, it doesn’t, and if something repeatedly comes up in your meditation as a tormenting memory, etc., that’s a sign to do something about it! Sorry you had that bad experience with them, I hope you and them will each find your way!
