For some goals, yes. Especially if they add to your long-term happiness by turning into themes. It’s an overly simplified example, but if saving 2 years worth of rent in cash gives you peace of mind and allows you to practice patience in your art as a theme, the struggle of pushing yourself to get there might be worth it. As some people have already suggested here, making your goals subordinate to your themes is definitely a step towards improving how you feel about them!
