But What About Privacy?
How connected you are is a direct result of how much you’re willing to share. Everyone wants to use WhatsApp, but unless we all offer our phone number, name, and online status, the app is useless. The same goes for cloud storage or any other online service. Where you want to set the slider between privacy and connectedness is up to you, but there’s much to be gained from a push to the right.

As a digital native and online creator, I can say the benefits of being dialed-in have far outweighed the downsides of being exposed. Think of all the phones you’ve broken, documents you’ve lost, and laptops that have left you at the worst time vs. how often you’ve been hacked, blackmailed, or had your identity stolen. The latter are terrifying, which is why we misjudge their probability. By a lot.
As long as you’re not the one who’s doing anything illegal, there are often more benefits to sharing than there are downsides. That said, where you set the slider you must determine for yourself.
